The goals of the Midlands Mentoring Partnership include the following:
Promote awareness and build the youth mentoring movement as not just nice, but necessary.
Address underserved populations and communities to increase the number and quality of mentoring relationships
Increase the awareness and practice of mentoring standards in the community
Increase Collaboration between mentoring agencies–connect resources for mentoring organizations
Raise the discussion level about data collection & evaluation to new heights
The Midlands Mentoring Partnership (MMP) was created in August 1999 as a Nebraska 501(c)3 non-profit to improve the number and quality of mentoring programs available to local youth. MMP is a public/private organization that receives funding support from Building Bright Futures and the City of Omaha. The Midlands Mentoring Partnership is made up of voting, supporting, and candidacy members.
Midlands Mentoring Partnership (MMP) is pleased to invite it's 11 full member organizations to apply for an Activation Grant. MMP is spearheading a recruitment campaign in August to raise awareness about the great need for mentors in our community. Activation Grants will be awarded to individual MMP members so they can develop and implement customized activities that promote their own mentoring program and recruitment needs.
Projects should take place in August to coincide with MMP’s recruitment campaign. Eligible projects include, but are not limited to: print materials, social media campaigns and recruitment events. Paid advertising is not an eligible expense. Broadcast promotion for the overall campaign is being provided by our media partners WOWT Channel 6 and Clear Channel Radio. Fusion Tree is providing consultation regarding the social media component.
MMP has $20,000 available for Activation Grants. The maximum request per organization is $2,500. Both direct and indirect costs are allowed. Applications must be submitted to MMP through Common Grant Application by 5 PM CST on May 31st, 2013. All grantees will be required to provide a link to the MMP website in their social media promotions related to the recruitment campaign during the month of August. Also, grantees will be required to re-tweet, re-post, or share a MMP designed message to promote the awareness campaign each day during the month of August (Monday through Friday only). Accepted social media outlets for this re-tweeting, re-posting, or sharing include Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

April 22nd - Grant proposal information release
May 31st, 5PM - Deadline to submit grant applications
June 15th - Grant awards announced

New Member Consultation Stipends are awarded to existing MMP member organizations who have demonstrated excellence in the field of mentoring. The existing MMP member organization agrees to "mentor" an organization that has expressed interest in attaining full membership within MMP. The MMP member organization will work with the "non-member" to set three goals and help monitor the progress of the "non-member" towards becoming an MMP member. The MMP member organization will also be asked to help the "non-member" develop their membership binder.
