(Dear Africa), is a private, non-profit, independent organization dedicated to increasing the understanding of how African societies develop and focusing on how individuals, organizations, markets and institutions work for a harmonious, more tolerant and just society.
Vision:
We envision a people – centered African Community enabled for sustainable development.
Mission Statement:
To stimulate emergence of healthy societies and environment by enabling Africans build partnerships for activating, sharing, learning and tracking development practices.
Goal
To enable African communities facilitate people-centered development processes for enhancing peace, healthy living and sustainable environmental practices through self-propelled strategies.
Organizational Objectives
1. Facilitate a participatory learning organization as platform for sharing information on Africa’s development
2. Stimulate emergence of empowered African communities by promoting equity, access to justice and enhanced economy and literacy as strategies for attaining good governance in Africa
3. Serve as a training, research and documentation center on African development issues such as economy, education, health, environment, conflict prevention, emergency relief and peace
4. Facilitate participatory monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
Practice areas
DEAR AFRICA applies its experience by specializing in research, tool development, relief works and project implementation in the following focus areas of development:
• Public Policy in Governance
• Emergency and Disaster Relief (for Victims of disasters)
• Health- Education and Environment
Our technical abilities include economic policy and social analysis, statistical and applied research, emergency relief and peace works, program design and implementation, and monitoring and evaluation.
DEAR AFRICA has further evolved into an organization which fosters the creation of independent didactic materials on topics such as human rights, economics, governance, health, environment, organizational skills, technology, social media activism, and effective management of community based organizations.
DEAR AFRICA benefits the public good by bringing synchronized energy to four distinct functions that, together, have the potential to profoundly impact social and economic progress and development. It is intended that these functions will drive, inspire, and inform one another.
