To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
- History:
Our organization, established in 2000 (local), is serving the Southeast Missouri area with our services. We provide a safe, affordable place for young people, ages 5-18, during non-school hours and the summer. Our target youth are at-risk youth, of which we currently have an 80% enrollment. At-risk is defined by our organization as any child that, if not at our Club, would be at home fending for themselves with no adult guidance or assistance. Within this group of youth, we have low-income families, foster care, behavioral disabilities, physical disabilities, and “at-danger” children (currently living in protected custody). We also offer outreach opportunities to other youth that are not currently members of our Club. These opportunities include: youth substance abuse prevention, self-esteem enhancement, and overall mental well-being.
