  • The A-MAN, Inc. mission is to utilize Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) activities as a motivational tool and advance the educational achievement, intellectual and career development of African-American, Latino, and other minority students 5-18 years of age. The agency purpose is to increase the number of African-American, Latino, and other minority students who are excited about and enter the special interest fields of science, technology, and engineering.

We share our legacy with you as we provide students with experiences that prepare them to attend higher academic institutions and begin fulfilling the nation’s leadership, technological and economic needs (ages 5-18).

    Founded in 1991 by educator Dr. Bettye Davis Walker and aerospace engineer Hildreth "Hal" Walker, Jr., as an outgrowth of a pilot educational research project funded by the University of California at Los Angeles. Dr. Bettye D. Walker was the Project Director of the successful program. Laser scientist Hildreth “Hal” Walker’s Apollo 11 Lunar Laser Ranging experiment is located in the National Smithsonian Museum of American History.
