General

  • Mission:
  • To increase the capacity of our communities to care for others by supporting local noprofit health and human services.

  • History:
  • United Way of Umatilla & Morrow Counties was formed as United Way of Umatilla County in November of 1953 to provide employers, their employees, and individual donors with a single avenue by which to invest in local nonprofit health and human services through a single annual giving campaign that would provide them with the ability to donate year 'round using the payroll deduction plan.
In 2003, we absorbed United Way of Morrow County and became United Way of Umatilla & Morrow Counties.
We have operated continuously and successfully for 58 years in this large, rural area with few resources, yet many unmet needs in the areas of helping kids become successful, providing the tools for folks to live independently, and assisting familes and individuals in getting back on their feet and becoming self-sufficient.
