The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Foundation’s mission is to promote the growth, quality and effectiveness of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. We solicit, invest, administer and distribute donations, gifts and bequests for the exclusive benefit of the University.
- History:
The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Foundation organized as a nonprofit corporation in December 1987 as the Corpus Christi State University Foundation. In 1991 the Foundation combined securities with those of the Warren Foundation into a single managed fund. The two foundations are separate legal entities. In 1993, when Corpus Christi State University became Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, the Foundation changed its name to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Foundation.
The Foundation offers annual and endowed scholarships to University students. During 2010 funds were also used to support campus academics through professorships in History and English; chairs for Engineering Technology and Accounting; and fellowships at the Harte Research Institute. Research endowments were funded to support fields of Surveying and Geospatial Science, Environmental and Coastal Studies, Visual Arts, Special Library archives and guest lecture series.
