ADDS operates a continuum of services for adolescents and young adults with co-occurring disorders through its eight licensed programs, including a Withdrawal and Stabilization Services program, Inpatient Rehabilitation unit, community residential services, supportive living homes, a residential rehabilitation service for youth, the Renaissance Campus for adolescents ages 12-20, and an outpatient clinic for individuals and their families. ADDS also operates an outpatient satellite site at Gateway-Longview, Inc.
Established in 1977, ADDS (previously Alcoholism Services of Erie County, Inc. (ASEC)), has been a pioneer in the development and delivery of addiction services in Western New York (WNY) has continuously developed and implemented new treatment opportunities. ADDS currently provides specialized services for adolescents, women, Hispanics and members of the criminal justice population, based on individualized treatment plans. Clients receive vocational, educational, and life skills training, and participate in individual, group, and family counseling sessions, and in recreational therapy, relapse prevention, and peer support activities.
Since 1977, ADDS has partnered with more than 300 providers, schools, media outlets, and community organizations to provide clients with the best treatment services available. Through the Renaissance Campus, ADDS developed the first public inpatient rehabilitation facility and community residences in WNY to treat chemically dependent adolescents. ADDS was also instrumental in establishing the Kids Escaping Drugs Campaign and the Kids Escaping Drugs Telethon.
ADDS management and staff includes physicians, nurses, certified social workers, teachers, and credentialed counselors from various disciplines within human services, all working to help chemically dependent individuals.
ADDS is governed by an all volunteer Board of Directors who are dedicated to serving and advocating for chemically dependent people. These volunteers include bankers, lawyers, civic and community leaders, and businessmen and women who give an extraordinary amount of their time and expertise on behalf of the Agency and community.
ADDS administrative office is located on Elm Street in downtown Buffalo. This facility also houses the agency’s detoxification and adult inpatient programs. ADDS’s adult community residences, supportive living, and outpatient programs are located throughout the City of Buffalo. The Renaissance Campus is located in West Seneca. The location of ADDS’s facilities ensures accessibility to the diverse population of WNY, including Erie and Niagara Counties.
