FRSD’s mission is to conserve and protect Nature and ecosystems in the Western Ghats Mountain by inspiring rural and indigenous communities to care about and protect natural habitats and biological diversity through actions based on conservation education, research, networks and partnership

• History:

Foundation for Research and Sustainable Development (FRSD) is a registered non-profit, non-governmental organization and is one of the conservation organizations active in the Western Ghats Mountains in the field of biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. FRSD is a Member in the Commission on Ecosystem Management, IUCN, Mountain Forum, Indian Environment Network, Water Integrity Network and in several international environment and conservation organizations. FRSD has been working in the Western Ghats Mountains for the past ten years. Western Ghats mountain ranges constitute the beautiful array of mountains along the western coats of India. The Western Ghats is considered as one of the most cherished ecological destinations in India.

Ihave founded a Conservation organization called Foundation for Research and Sustainable Development (FRSD) engaged in protecting Nature and natural resources in southern Tamilnadu, India. FRSD is dedicated to conserve threatened mountain ecosystems and wonderful rural areas beneath the Western Ghats Mountains in southern Tamilnadu. This is our home and one of the ancient places on earth well known for its civilization and cultural heritage. Our efforts are to ensure the natural heritage and indigenous knowledge of our people are protected and conserved for the present and for generations to come. FRSD’s conservation work is mainly driven by the core values of respect to our glorious past and ancient wisdom that were in practice during the Sangam period of Classic Tamil history. In the years to come, FRSD will be dedicated to preserve and protect our natural world and the Western Ghats Mountains and the wondrous wildlife.
