Background

The Abuse Victim Hotline, Inc.'s (AVH) vision, leadership, and action empower people to advance their roles, rights and well-being.

AVH provides free, confidential support services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. We serve people without regard to age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, color or ability. We educate and inform children, youth and the community at large to prevent and eliminate the causes of domestic and sexual violence.
2006
In August 2006, Rob Rainer and Noelle Rainer launched the Abuse Victim Hotline. AVH began serving the nation through a toll-free hotline and confidential email service for victims of all or any type of abuse. While AVH began as a small marketing initiative teaming up with search engines, such as yahoo and Google, AVH is now responsible for the distribution of multiple pamphlets throughout schools, hospitals and police stations. In addition, AVH is working to become bilingual for the distribution of literature for every demographic and published a Resource Guide, a comprehensive list of resources to help direct and educate victims of abuse and their options. The participation in community events and workshops and recording public service announcements has also been integral aspects of AVH's development.
