    With more than 73 years of providing quality services to area residents, Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada is an established and respected leader in both identifying community issues and developing essential services and solutions to help those in need. Throughout its history, our agency has continually expanded its range of services in response to community needs to become one of the largest and most diverse nonprofit service providers in the state of Nevada.

  • History:
  • Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada was formed in 1941, with the purpose of establishing programs and service centers that ensure that the basic needs of the poor, homeless, and disadvantaged people in Southern Nevada are met, as far as resources allow, in cooperation with other local social service agencies. The services provided including dining rooms and shelters for the homeless, emergency assistance programs for the needy, several food programs that emphasize nutrition and healthy choices (three WIC Clinics for infants, a supermarket-style Food Pantry, senior meal programs), immigration and migration assistance programs, and an adoption service. Catholic Charities also provides services to low-income senior citizens through Meals on Wheels, Medical Nutrition Therapy programmng, Senior Companion Program, Respite Services for caregivers, and keeps seniors active and engaged in the community through the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program and the Foster Grandparent Program.
