Abuse and Rape Crisis Center (ARCC) originally began as the Towanda Area Women's Center in 1979. The name changed to the Abuse and Rape Crisis Center in 1987 to reflect that the center serves victims of domestic and sexual violence, whether female, male or child, throughout Bradford County. ARCC is involved in crisis intervention and offers the following services: 24 hour hotline, counseling, emergency housing for victims of domestic violence, transportation, legal advocacy and accompaniment and medical advocacy and accompaniment. The agency also provides an extensive offering of prevention education programs to the community and schools.
