Hannah & Friends is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation dedicated to providing a better quality of life for children and adults with special needs.
The Foundation will provide support for a program called Hannah's Helping Hands, which will fund quality of life grants for Indiana and Rhode Island families that care for children and adults with special needs. The grants will provide low and moderate-income families with stipends that may be used for a wide variety of supports related to their family member.
The Foundation will also provide funding for the construction and ongoing operations of a farm where residential homes will provide a community for adults with special needs.
The Foundation fosters an ongoing campaign of "Awareness & Compassion" for all individuals with special needs. Individuals with special needs deserve the same respect as everyone else and it is our mission to educate others who do not understand this mindset.
- History:
Hannah & Friends was founded by Charlie and Maura Weis in 2003 with inspiration from their daughter Hannah who was diagnosed with global developmental delays. The Weises recognized a large and growing population of children and adults with various special needs (i.e. Autism, Down Syndrome, and cerebral palsy) and established Hannah & Friends, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with special needs.
