• History:

Since 1962, Boys & Girls Clubs of Brea-Placentia-Yorba Linda has been an autonomous affiliate of the nationwide movement of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. In 2004, the Placentia Club started its first satellite branch on the Mabel Paine Elementary School campus in Yorba Linda and formally became Boys & Girls Clubs of Placentia-Yorba Linda. Between 2004 and 2007, two additional chartered campus Clubs, both at middle schools, opened and the Club partnered with Placentia Yorba Linda Unified School District to open five CASA elementary school programs under California Proposition 49 funding. Also in 2007, though a partnership with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, the Club broke ground on a new community-use baseball field which is slated to open in summer 2008. In September 2007 the five CASA sites became formally chartered Boys & Girls Club sites. In September 2007, Boys & Girls Clubs of Brea-Placentia-Yorba Linda expanded further through the merger of Boys & Girls Clubs of Placentia-Yorba Linda (chartered in 1962) and Brea Boys & Girls Club (formed as a satellite Club of La Habra Boys & Girls Club in 1986).
