  • History:
  • Our History:

In 1990, a small, yet insightful group of community minded people realized the need for a safe place for children to go after school. As a result, the first BGSWC programs were started on the Margarita Middle School site in Temecula, offering after school programs to middle school children. The Club expanded to its current facility in Old Town Temecula in 1994. Three years later, the organization expanded into Murrieta and is now serving youth at a facility in the California Oaks Sports Park. In 2004, the Club began offering programs at the Erle Stanley Gardner Middle School in Redhawk. The Club opened the Pechanga Great Oak Clubhouse in Temecula in Kent Hindergardt Park in May of 2006. The newest club to open is the Alberhill Ranch Clubhouse located in Lake Elsinore which opened in January of 2007. The BGCSWC has seen tremendous growth over the past five years from serving 885 kids in 2001 to serving over 7,000 in 2007. The organization is currently preparing to expand into another new community in 2009 giving the agency the potential to reach an additional 10,000 youth.
