Background
ACCION New Mexico (ACCION) is an award-winning, nonprofit, microenterprise development organization serving the state of New Mexico. Its mission is to increase access to business credit, make loans and provide training that enable emerging entrepreneurs to realize their dreams and be catalysts for positive economic and social change. ACCION offers loans from $200 to $150,000 to emerging entrepreneurs who experience barriers to qualifying for business credit from traditional financial institutions. ACCION utilizes its microloans as a hands-on training tool to build financial literacy and is committed to ensuring that its services and products reflect client demand.
1994
Founded in 1994, ACCION invests in the ability of entrepreneurs to create greater economic independence for themselves, their families, and their communities. Since inception, ACCION has issued more than 3,815 small business loans totaling $22 million to finance the start-up or growth of over 2,275 microenterprises throughout New Mexico. Our services include loans ranging from $200 to $150,000, built on a stepped lending process beginning with a small, manageable loan.
