General

  • Mission:
  • The mission of the Alabama Coastal Foundation (ACF) is to improve and protect the quality of Alabama’s coastal resources by identifying and solving problems through education, cooperation and participation. We accomplish this mission by providing factual information, promoting dialogue, and advocating action.

  • History:
  • ACF has provided Alabama’s coastal area with more than fifteen years of innovative outreach programs with participation from communities in Baldwin, Mobile, and Washington Counties in South Alabama. ACF distinguishes itself among environmental protection organizations because of its goal to seek common ground among government, business/industry, community groups and individual citizens to work together to address coastal conservation issues. ACF is committed to factually addressing priority environmental issues throughout the region. These issues include habitat degradation, waste disposal, environmental education, sedimentation, sustainable growth, water quality and public health.
