• Mission:

Consistently, we provide local children with high quality afterschool programs including a daily homework completion program, Power Hour, in which each child completes their homework with support from a consistent mentor with other children from their own grade. Children are able to begin their next school day with an extra sense of accomplishment knowing that they are prepared with their homework completed and checked for accuracy by an adult. Power Hour has time-test proven results that work to increase academic performance and increase self esteem in our children. This education, we feel, is the core of our mission, to enable all young people to realize their full potential as healthy, productive, responsible and caring citizens. In addition, we offer popular arts and recreation programs including six week classes in: drama, dance, visual arts and athletics. Membership to the Boys & Girls Club of North San Luis Obispo County costs our members only twenty dollars a year.

• History:

The Boys & Girls Club of North San Luis Obispo County was established in partnership with the City of Paso Robles, California in 1990 to support low and moderate income families with afterschool care. Since our inception we have grown significantly from operating out of a room at the middle school to occupying an independent facility. We currently serve over 250 youth members from every school in the Paso Robles School District transported to our Club by school district busses. We have developed a wide base of private business and local individual support. We are currently looking into deepening our impact utilizing city and school district support.
