• Mission:

Tennessee Parks and Greenways Foundation mission is to protect Tennessee's natural treasures. by creating a network or parks, greenways, and wildlife areas across Tennessee with state parks and natural areas serving as destinations throughout these connected corridors. TPGF also fosters initiatives of others through conservation education and advocacy.

• History:

Tennessee Greeways Project, a three-year, grant-funded effort to promote greenways and trails in communities throughout the state, merged with Tennessee State Parks Foundation, a state-funded entity who supplied the board of directors, to become Tennessee Parks and Greenways Foundation. Since its inception, TPGF has partnered with various organizations to conserve 37 parcels of land (varying from 8 to 1,988 acres) and award 164 small grants to fund greenway or trail projects to or in a state park, natural area or other public lands.
