    • Began as a small soup kitchen in 1981, merged with local homeless shelter organization in 1989, added transitional and permanent housing programs, education and employment advocacy, Hispanic advocacy and social service programs. The agency has had the same executive director since 1989, prior to the merger. Over 70% of the budget is from private sources. The agency has twice received the Walter J Dunfey Award for Excellent in Managment from The Corporate Fund of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation and was also selected by Citizens Bank/WMUR as their Champion in Action for Hunger.
