  • Mission:
  • The Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central North Carolina was founded in 2005 in response to a growing concern for the lack of educational, character building, and positive social environments for the at-risk youth of Franklin, Granville, Vance, and Warren counties. Our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

  • History:
  • Having only received our 501(c) 3 status five years ago, the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central North Carolina has grown immensely within that time.

During the past three years, we have achieved the following milestones:

    • Expanded our program to include delivering services in another school, increasing from three to four service locations.
    • Incorporated academic assistance, leadership and character development, creative arts, and sports and recreation.
    • Increased our SMART Moves (chemical dependency and premature sexual activity prevention) participants by 264%
    • Developed a strategic plan and focus for 2011 based upon a needs assessment for the Vance and Franklin County areas

In one year alone, we have served diligently to witness the following:

    • Average Daily Attendance of 90
    • 819 members enrolled
    • 310 adolescents graduated from the SMART Moves Program
    • 445 children participated in our Power Hour Program (focusing on academic achievement and skill development)
    • 260 boys and girls graduated from their gender-specific programs designed to teach responsibility and positive life choices
    • 432 youths completed various life skills programs such as computer and technology classes, money management classes, career guidance, and more
    • 428 children attended educational and engaging field trips
