  • Mission:
  • The Chattahoochee Valley Episcopal Ministry, Inc. (CVEM) has been serving and standing beside people in need for 30 years. Its mission is to provide assistance, empowerment, education and advocacy to the region's poor and disenfranchised people and to form partnerships and coalitions to strengthen its ability to act as a change agent for social justice and oppression within the region.

    CVEM Programs:

    Infusion Youth Leadership Program – in this a servant leadership-based program students from diverse backgrounds engage community by study, reflection, and interaction with specific populations around major societal issues

    Direct Assistance – in two locations, financial and in-kind assistance is offered to people in need

    Thompson-Pound Art Program (TAP) – an interfaith, intercultural summer arts program for children to teach tolerance and appreciation of the different world religions through the arts. Two programs are held each summer in different locations.

    Shedding Our Secrets – a program of awareness, resources, and support to victims / survivors of incest

    Conversation Café – a monthly educational and support group for persons helped through Direct Assistance

    Direct Assistance and Shedding Our Secrets are led by volunteers with staff assistance; Conversation Café is directed by the part-time Director of Development. Infusion and both TAP program directors receive stipends.
