  • Mission:
  • As MIT's President Hockfield states, our Robotics Post is founded on the principles of teamwork, collaboration, and hands on experience. Worcester Polytech Institute President Berkey states that our world badly needs a new generation of highly capable scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs and leaders of new technology. We are rebuilding our economy and asserting responsible leadership in the world, solving massive problems of hunger, health, energy and peace will depend on gracious leadership, scientific technological expertise and compassionate through the understanding of human needs and potential. The Robotics Post leaders and members understand that and seek to advance knowledge and to educate members in science, technology, engineering and math subjects through our mentors who are well respected in their fields and actual experience on the tasks. We wish to explore the world of building by learning about engineer computer programs such as Solidworks or Autodesk; how pneumatics works and application methods; learning drive trains and chassis; and much more. We will use physics and geometry when we design on CAD engineering programs; we will construct a robot for competition and program said robot for tasks assigned by several competitions throughout the year. We will require tools, supplies and programming - mentoring will be on a volunteer basis.

  • History:
  • While we are a new organization, we have 12 years of robotics experience among our mentors. We have taken members for 4 teams that I have begun and combined them from all over the city to this 1 locale to begin a unified team.
