  • In 2012, the Boys and Girls Club of Oshkosh celebrated 42 years of service to youth ages 6-18 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Our mission of improving the lives of children and families is well supported in the community. "The Club" is one of the most recognized top-class facilities in the area for teens. In addition to "The Club", the Radford Center, and 8 school sites, the Boys and Girls Club of Oshkosh also encompasses a self-funded unit, the Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County Area, in Berlin, serving Green Lake, Waushara and Marquette Counties. 26 six active Board members, 13 full time staff, 35 part time staff, and several hundred volunteers work throughout the year to assist with delivering our programs and executing a number of special events. In addition, the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh owns and operates a 45 acre Camp Radford. It is available for day and overnight camping and features swimming, hiking, crafts, nature study and a lodge. More than 4,200 at risk youth ages 6 - 18 and their families were served in membership and outreach in 2011. Our professional staff, safe facilities, and dynamic programs provide every young person with the sense of competence, belonging, usefulness and worth.

  • The Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh was founded in 1968. Since then, the Club has proved to be an essential organization in the Oshkosh community. By enabling young people to reach their full potential as productive, and responsible adults, the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh has improved the lives of children and families and proved that Oshkosh's children of today are the leaders of tomorrow!

    Timeline of the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh

    1970 The Boys Club of Oshkosh was founded, and the headquarters officially opened at Main and Merritt

    1974 The Rockwell Foundation purchased the property at 502 N. Main and donated it to the Boys Club of Oshkosh. The Club became owners of
    its headquarters, which now is the Walter F. Rockwell Building

    1981 The Radford family donated 45 acres of land near New London, which has been developed into our camp and environmental education
    area

    1981 The Boys Club of Oshkosh Alumni Association was formed. They now raise about $25,000 for the Club and Camp Radford, along with many hours of volunteer service

    1984 A permanent endowment fund was established with $200,000

    1988 The Boys Club of Oshkosh began after-school programs in local elementary schools

    1989 Girls were officially welcomed in common membership. The Club was officially renamed the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh, Inc

    1992 Campaign for Kids raised $1.7 million dollars to construct a new facility

    1993 The Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh, Inc., moved to their new and current facility at 501 East Parkway Avenue

    1994 A new facility was constructed to house Head Start. Club members use the facility on non-school days and 160 children in Head Start use
    the Club building on school days

    1997 Berlin Center opens

    1997 Adjacent property was purchased and converted to a teen center, administrative offices and a child abuse prevention center

    2007 Opening the Doors campaign raised $2 million dollars for the new teen Center, $100,000 for the baseball field, and $2.2 million dollars in pledges and cash for the endowment

    2007 The new teen center The Club and administrative offices opened in April

    2007 The Berlin Center changed their name to the Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County Area
