General

  • Mission:
  • Our vision is to create a holistic model that will help break the chain of poverty for future generations. Our mission is to find & implement alternative approaches to improving the lives of the less fortunate & in particular orphaned, abandoned & disadvantaged children living in the US & abroad. We help them become self sufficient & eco friendly by teaching them how to grow their own food, self heal with medicinal herbs, harvest & purify water, make home made batteries, harness solar energy, make useful items out of trash they can sell to make money & stop soil erosion by growing vetiver & deter deforestation by growing bamboo & by producing bamboo-based charcoal.

  • Overview:
  • In summary Bridging Humanity strives to support all of the main objectives of the Lawrence Foundation; the environment, education, human services, disaster relief etc. We transform lives by connecting these groups. We strive to foster a better understanding & appreciation of how we can learn from one another & live a happy, healthy balanced life in harmony with our environment & each other. By teaching the less fortunate how to live a healthy life, by showing them how to make a living by repurposing trash, by taking a holistic approach & educating them we are giving them the tools they need to survive, with dignity & respect.

  • History:
  • Bridging Humanity, a volunteer based non profit was founded in June of 2012. The founder, Tina Cornely has spent the majority of her life traveling abroad & teaching orphans & orphanages how to become self sufficient. After much encouragement from pillars of our community, Tina Cornely decided to formalize her efforts & founded Bridging Humanity. She came up with the name while she was spending time at an orphanage located in Bamako, Mali. Coincidentally Mali suffered a coup d'etat while she was there. Regardless her time at the orphanage as she was able to start a permaculture garden & retrofitted their electric water tank with solar panels.
