General

  • Mission:
  • The mission is to provide to African families, the knowledge, tools, and support needed to improve their education, health, and economic sustainability for a better quality of life.

  • Overview:
  • Last year the agency reopened under a new name and vision and conducted a needs assessment in a small study in the community. Based on the findings, we decided to implement a project to conduct activities to benefit African immigrant children and families in the Twin Cities. In general, Africa Solution Foundation operates fundamentally through three programs:

1- The implementation of an integrated hybrid model of diseases prevention, health facilities capacity building, education supports, and microfinance services in Africa for poor women and youth.
2- The provision of scholarship to African immigrant students throughout the United States through US-African Students Fund.
3- The civic engagement, economic growth, housing, food, employment, clothing, and self-sufficiency services to African immigrant families living in the Twin Cities.

  • History:
  • From 2000 to 2007, the agency was known as Africa Solutions and had conducted several HIV prevention programs in Minneapolis, MN before shutting down. We had provided HIV and family social services including outreach in Minneapolis and Saint-Paul, MN. We have served about 2,500 individuals including women, children, and youth.
