  • Mission:
  • Anderson Interfaith Ministries is an organization connecting people with support, resources, and education so they can empower themselves to be self-sufficient.

Our vision is to promote an environment where all people in Anderson and surrounding counties independently provide for themselves and their families.

  • Overview:
  • AIM seeks to stabilize the community and assist people in removing barriers to independence. AIM continues to implement strategic programs to alleviate poverty and give individuals and families the tools they need to achieve and maintain their economic independence and invest in their futures. The organization has grown to include two major program areas with six specific programs:

    1. Strengthening Families Programs
    a. Women and Children Succeeding
    b. Asset Building and Education
    c. Family Visitation Initiative

    2. Basic Needs Programs:
    a. Emergency Assistance
    b. Hunger Ministries
    c. Special Projects

In 2013, we will expand our organization to include an Affordable Housing Program.

  • History:
  • Anderson Interfaith Ministries is a private non-profit organization that was formed by local churches to reduce duplication of services in 1989. AIm has a diversified base of support to include foundations, corporations, individuals, church groups and civic clubs. AIM was established with the philosophy of being a "hand up - not a hand out" agency. Helping people help themselves solve their own problems is the best approach in assisting people. AIM seeks to treat the client's core issues (i.e. financial literacy, budgeting, job training and readiness), not just the symptoms of the issue (i.e. rental assistance, utility bills, emergency food, etc.)
