  • Mission:
  • The mission of Arizona’s Children Association is based on a strong commitment to the welfare of children, adults and families. The agency’s highest priority is to sustain healthy family environments. Arizona’s Children Association will provide a broad spectrum of services that foster healing and promote emotional well-being. We will work and advocate through our family of agencies in every venue necessary to accomplish this mission.

  • Overview:
  • Arizona’s Children Association is the best resource for helping children and families in the state. For more than 100 years, Arizona’s Children Association (AzCA) has stayed true to “Protecting Children and Preserving Families,” serving more than 42,000 children, individuals and families in all 15 counties in the state each year. Our professionally trained, caring and dedicated staff provides a broad spectrum of services that help create and sustain a healthy family environment. Our services include foster care & adoption, behavioral health & trauma/crisis response, family preservation & reunification, kinship services, parenting education, transitional youth services and a community center. Ninety cents of every dollar is spent directly on programs and services and we have been recognized by The Business Journal as one of Arizona’s top-ranking charitable organizations. We maintain a number of accreditations, state licenses and organization memberships that allow the agency to remain on the leading edge of child welfare and behavioral health issues in Arizona and the country. AzCA is licensed by the Arizona Departments of Behavioral Health and Economic Security and nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and Better Business Bureau. • History:
  • In 2012, Arizona's Children Association celebrated our first century of hope. AzCA was originally founded in 1912, as Arizona Children’s Home, to care for homeless, neglected and dependent children. To meet the changing needs of the children, Arizona Children‘s Home developed services that extended beyond the residential program in Tucson, and well beyond Tucson itself.

We began establishing local advisory groups in 1915 with the following cities on record as initial supporters: Globe, Patagonia, Pima City, Safford, Solomon, Thatcher, Prescott, Yuma, and Nogales. By the year 1918, fifty cities across Arizona made at least one financial contribution to AzCA.

To reflect the changing needs of children served, Arizona Children’s Home changed its name to Arizona's Children Association in 1997. Today, Arizona’s Children Association is one of the largest and oldest child welfare and behavioral health non-profit agencies in Arizona.
