Through our e-mail alert system (at www.1000friendsofflorida.org), we provide timely updates on legislative and other growth management issues. We also work with state agencies to promote smarter growth policies, and have served on or staffed a variety of state panels and commissions.

We have partnered on recent projects with the Florida Department of State to better integrate historic resources and disaster planning, the Florida Department of Transportation to promote interagency interaction earlier in the transportation process, and the Florida Department of Community Affairs to develop a manual on springshed protection. In 2007 and 2008 we partnered with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to develop and community planning-based wildlife conservation guide.
