  • Mission:
  • The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Georgia provide a compelling alternative to drugs, crime, gang activity and other negative influences affecting local youth today and our highly-qualified and trained staff, volunteers and community partners help us fulfill our mission to “enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.”

  • History:
  • The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Georgia has been a premier youth serving agency in this community since 1953. With a desire to enrich the lives of all young people and particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, we have been on the forefront of youth development for the past 60 years. Our organization has provided a tangible measure of hope to thousands of kids by ensuring the communities’ young people have access to a safe and fun environment with caring adults and quality programs that enhance and mold their futures.

Originating from one club location that only serviced boys, we later expanded to include females in 1990 and opened three additional clubs, with one located in neighboring Polk County. We now serve more than 3,000 children per year between the ages of 5-18 and offer a broad range of programs in five core program areas: Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Health and Life Skills, The Arts, and Sports/Fitness and Recreation. The three priority outcomes that we strive to help our youth achieve include Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship, and Living a Healthy Lifestyle.
