  • Mission:
  • We are a Christian ministry of charity, service and justice dedicated to providing help to those in need, hope to those in despair, and inspiration for others to follow.

  • Overview:
  • CCDOC Refugee Resettlement serves as a link between the refugees, other service agencies and the community. We provide quality services and a caring support system which will empower our refugee clients to become self-sufficient, self-reliant and productive members of society.

  • History:
  • Our history began over 60 years ago when the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Raleigh (which then covered the entire state) created a Charlotte-based branch of The Bureau of Catholic Charities. Our vast service area now extends through 46 counties, from Rockingham county in the north to Richmond county in the south and Cherokee county in the west. We seek opportunities to expand outreach to our neighbors in need through our physical locations in Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro, Murphy, and Winston-Salem and through parish-based program offerings across the Diocese of Charlotte.
Currently we offer foster care, adoption, and pregnancy services; individual, marriage, and family counseling; distribution of donated services to the needy; family enrichment services such as elder ministry, marriage preparation, and natural family planning; refugee resettlement and immigration services; disaster relief; economic opportunity development; support for pregnant teens and teens in crisis; and, social concerns education and advocacy, including justice and peace, Catholic Relief Services, the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, and respect life outreach.
Through the generosity of our donors and partnerships with funders, we are able to offer services either free of charge or on a sliding fee scale to all whose needs fall within our range of expertise and ability to serve. All of our services are available to clients regardless of their race, ethnicity, or religion.
Our more than 60 professional staff members have earned certifications, licenses, and other credentials to provide outstanding services and assistance. Through accreditation by the Council on Accreditation, a national accrediting body for human service agencies, COA Hague accreditation for Intercountry Adoptions, and licensure as a child-placing agency by the State of North Carolina, we are able ensure the best quality of service provision.
