  • Mission:
  • Angel Heart Pajama project 501 c (3) has been in operation since November 1st, 2013. Angel Heart Pajama Project’s mission is to provide new pajamas and books to children in need from infancy to age 12. The children we serve are in foster care or shelters, or homeless.

  • Overview:
  • Angel Heart is Pajama Project the vision of my 84 year old mother, my sister and I as founders. During our early years of adjusting to a new language and culture, mom always found money or the means to purchase new pajamas and books. The tradition was something we looked forward to during holidays and special celebrations. Mom has continued the tradition with, grandchildren and now with a new great granddaughter.
My sister and I recognized that this tradition provide us with the stability and a love for reading. Through our profession we recognize that Arizona has a record number of children in state custody (14,000). These children often go to foster-care in just the clothes they are wearing, and many of these children have seldom enjoyed the security, love and feeling that someone cares about them. By providing free pajamas and books we will be able to bring what happens at bedtime. We hope to bring joy and also encourage the joy of reading. The Angel Heart Pajama Project will make an impact on children's lives and will leave a legacy for generations to come.

  • History:
  • Angel Heart Pajama Project first objective was to identify agencies serving children in need and to contact business and schools in Tucson to seek participation in pajama/book drives or funding donations. A total of eight Pajama and Book Drives were held by businesses and schools in the Tucson Area. Individual contributions were received and the process of applying for grants began with the objective of receiving 2014 year funds.
In the first two months of operation and due to the successful pajama/book drives in schools and local businesses like Barnes and Noble, The Gap and Tucson
