  • Mission:
  • Learning is preeminent at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). We aspire to combine the best qualities of teaching and research universities where actively engaged students, faculty, and staff work in close collaboration to expand knowledge. Our affordable undergraduate and graduate programs provide students with the best of current practice, theory, and research and integrate professional studies with preparation in the arts and sciences.
CSUF is a leader within the California State University system, known for our record of innovation and support for student progress toward graduation and into the workforce. As an emerging national model for how a public comprehensive university can boost graduation rates through thoughtful efforts to keep students connected to, and empowered by, their education, CSUF offers faculty-student collaborative research, internships, service in the community, and a vibrant co-curricular life for our nearly 38,000 students.

  • Overview:
  • Established in 1957, CSUF is the largest of the 23 California State University campuses. CSUF is first in California and fifth in the nation for the number of bachelor's degrees awarded to Hispanic students. Additionally, in 2014, the Washington, DC-based Education Trust acknowledged CSUF as a national leader in price, quality, and accessibility and only one of five of the nation's nearly 1,200 four-year colleges and universities doing a good job of serving low-income students.
CSU Fullerton Auxiliary Service Corporation (ASC) was incorporated on October 26, 1959 as a nonprofit public corporation for the purpose of promoting and assisting the educational mission of Cal State Fullerton. In fulfilling its mission, the ASC employs over 1,600 people as it performs a variety of services throughout the campus community. Specifically, it oversees commercial operations; educational grants and contracts for the University; and is responsible for the fiscal administration for numerous University programs.

The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching has once again honored Cal State Fullerton for its distinctive community-engagement activities, making it one of only 361 institutions in the United States to hold the classification.

CSUF was among five California State University campuses to be recognized on the President's Higher Education Community Service "Honor Roll With Distinction" for general community service.
CSUF was one of five colleges and universities honored with the 2014 Higher Education

CSUF remains No. 1 in California among institutions that graduate Hispanic students, according to "Top 100 Colleges for Hispanics" ranking (Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education). CSUF is No.4 in the nation for the number of bachelor's degrees awarded to underrepresented students (Diverse Issues in Higher Education).
CSUF continues to be among the nation's "Top Public Regional Universities (West)," (U.S. News & World Report). The publication also gave top ranking to CSUF's online graduate degree programs in engineering, business and education in its "Best Online Programs" rankings.

For the third straight year, Cal State Fullerton (CSUF) led the pack of "Best Bang for the Buck" universities in California and is No.4 nationally, according to the 2014 rankings by Washington Monthly.
