  • Mission:

  • The Mission of Anne Grady Services is to provide Dignity, Respect, and Quality Service to people with disabilities and their families, always offering opportunities to reach their highest potential.

  • Overview:
  • The individuals who are served by Anne Grady Services have a primary disability of mental retardation and, as such, are eligible to receive services in an Intermediate Care Facility for individuals with developmental disabilities. This type of facility is a home that offers habilitation as its primary charge. Active treatment is a continual organized effort to help each individual attain his or her fullest capacity through their regular participation in a program of activities. Said activities are designed to enable the individual to attain the optimal physical, intellectual, social, and vocational level of functioning possible. Each individual has a team assigned. The team meets once a year for an annual meeting to determine goals and objectives. A follow-up team meeting occurs six months later to determine progress and plan implementation.

Noah’s House, which opened in December 2003 in response to the need in the local and surrounding communities. The home provides respite care for children with developmental disabilities and/or medical needs. Noah’s House makes available respite care in a child-friendly environment that provides more than just care and supervision to children by providing activities and socialization to help children grow. Many caregivers in Northwest Ohio have greatly benefited from the temporary relief of daily caregiving responsibilities. For caregivers in a stressful situation, respite provides temporary relief from the on-going responsibility of caring for a loved one in the home that is medically fragile or developmentally delayed. Respite stays can be planned or in response to a sudden emergency situation. Noah’s House has licensed nursing staff available on site 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. We correspond with our local Children’s Service Board, Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities regularly. We have provided Respite Services for individuals in Pauling, Sandusky, Vanwert, Lorain, Seneca, Fulton and Ottawa County. The needs for respite services has continued to expand throughout Northwest Ohio, Anne Grady Services continues to meet the needs of this growth.

Anne Grady Services is licensed through the State of Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (OD/DD). Anne Grady Services meets or exceeds all standards for Licensure in the State of Ohio. Additional inspections and licensure are performed by Department of Health, State of Ohio and Lucas County, and the State Fire Marshal.

  • History:
  • Anne Grady Services is the parent company of the Anne Grady Corporation and the Anne Grady Day Program. Anne Grady Services and its two subsidiaries are non-profit corporations established to provide an array of services to individuals with developmental disabilities. The Anne Grady Corporation, which was originally named Decem Corporation representing the 10 Northwest Ohio counties it was to serve, later changed its name to Anne Grady Corporation to honor one of its founding parents. Today, the Anne Grady Corporation employs approximately 450 employees, providing comprehensive services to both children and adults with developmental disabilities and special needs.

The base facility, Anne Grady Center which opened its doors in March of 1982, is located in Springfield Township in Holland, Ohio, on approximately 15 acres with the main facility, Anne Grady Center, being a 70,000 sq. ft., 84 bed intermediate care facility (ICF) for individuals with developmental disabilities. Anne Grady Center houses all the therapists as well as a Natatorium, which has an indoor pool with a movable floor.

Anne Grady Corporation operates a number of group homes ranging from the first group home, Eber home adjacent to Anne Grady Center that opened in 1991, to small independent living homes located throughout the community. The Anne Grady Day Program operates in a newly renovated 20,000 sq. ft. facility (Anne Grady Training and Work Center) on Trade Rd. in Spencer Township which opened in 2006. This program is designed to provide day work and activity services to individuals who have developmental disabilities.

Noah’s House, which is located within the Anne Grady Center and opened in December of 2003, provides respite care to four children who are medically fragile and/or have special needs. In addition one wing is set-up for adult respite and can provide care to 16 adults. The Anne Grady Center is also the site of our Summer Day Camp Program. The first year of the program was in the summer of 2006. The camp ran for eight weeks with eight children, between the ages of 12-21, enrolled in the program that summer. The camp has expanded since its first year and is now capable of having up to 13 children enrolled for six weeks of the summer.

Because of the work we do with Noah’s House, Anne Grady was asked by the Lucas County Board of DD to take over as the provider for the Prescribed Pediatrics Center (PPC), which is a day care service for medically fragile children located in the Educare Center in the City of Toledo, as Visiting Nurse Extra Care, a ProMedica Health System company, announced that they would no longer provide the service after August 31, 2007. So, in September of 2007, the Anne Grady Prescribed Pediatric Center became a new service that Anne Grady offered the community as a medical day-care for children with developmental disabilities/special needs.

Community Transit Services (CTS), which is a subsidiary of Anne Grady has also enriched the lives of hundreds by providing transportation to those with developmental disabilities. Through our services we have made the impossible possible by giving our clients access to many resources within the NW Ohio region. Our client-centered approach has made Anne Grady Services unmatched to any other transportation companies because our bottom line is measured in the satisfaction of our clients.
