  • Citizens for a Healthy Bay (CHB) is a community-based organization dedicated to creating and strengthening a long-term environmental stewardship ethic in the south and south central Puget Sound regions by engaging citizens to actively participate in the cleanup, restoration and protection of Commencement Bay, South Central Puget Sound, the Puyallup River Watershed and their surrounding waters and habitat. Originally founded in 1990 to provide the community with a voice at the table in the Commencement Bay Superfund cleanup, CHB remains an active participant in the regulatory process while enlisting thousands of volunteers in programs that reach throughout Pierce County and South Puget Sound.
