  • Mission:
  • .Changing the way America cares for children, families and communities by providing and promoting an Integrated Continuum of Care® that instills Boys Town values to strengthen body, mind and spirit.

  • Overview:
  • Despite freshly squeezed OJ and family friendly theme parks, the sunshine state has the 8th highest divorce rate in the country. The effect on children and fractured families is devastating. Boys Town Central Florida's In-Home Family Consultant Services helps support these and other broken and dysfunctional families in a setting most important to healing – the home. Family members learn life skills to help resolve conflict and to develop communication strategies to enable nurturing relationships within the family. These are the children and families who live in our neighborhoods, attend our schools, and worship in our churches throughout Central Florida.

  • History:
  • Providing abused, neglected, and abandoned children throughout Central Florida supportive and transitional shelter and housing until a more permanent home can be established has been the hallmark of Boys Town Central Florida (BTCFL) since 1986. BTCFL is one of eleven independent non-profit sites founded by Father Edward J. Flanagan in 1917. Through BTCFL’s Continuum of Care children are given more than just housing. The Continuum of Care gives the right amount of care at the right time at the most therapeutic level. Children move seamlessly through the levels of care without being disrupted and displaced. The evidence-based programs include: Intervention and Assessment Emergency Shelter, Family Homes, In-Home Family Consulting Services, a Behavioral Health Clinic, Common Sense Parenting, and Community Support Services. These programs and services touched the lives of 1,933 children and 407 families throughout Central Florida in 2015.The Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance named Boys Town a BBB Wise Giving Alliance Accredited Charity. And Charity Navigator, one of the nation’s largest and most-respected charity rating systems, has awarded Boys Town one of its highest ratings for the sound management of its finances. We are very strongly positioned to continue to save children and heal families in Central Florida.
