Our goal is to provide the influence of positive adult role models and the friendship of caring adult mentors to children whose education, health, and safety are threatened. Our vision is to contribute to brighter futures, better schools, and stronger communities for all.

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Maryland is a private 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in Baltimore, Maryland in 1952. As a full member in good standing of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the agency adheres to the highest standards of youth mentoring developed and perfected over 100 years. Big Brothers Big Sisters of America is the oldest, largest, and most effective youth mentoring organization in the United States, developing positive relationships that have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of young people.

    Since its founding in 1952, Big Brothers Big Sisters has served more than 30,000 youth in Baltimore City, Central Maryland and the Eastern Shore, including 1,904 children and youth last year alone. Our goal is to strategically increase our capacity in order to serve at least 5,000 children and youth in Central Maryland in any year.
