General

  • Mission:
  • Camp Fire USA develops personal resilience, intellectual curiosity, and social values while creating caring, confident youth and future leaders.

  • History:
  • Camp Fire USA - Oneida Council, Inc. has had a long history of community involvement with youth, especially teens, in the Northern Wisconsin area. Established in 1968 as a local Camp Fire USA council, our programs have included outreaching to teens to give them an outlet to perform community service work while building self esteem through leadership opportunities. We have ran programs from simple volunteering at a local food shelter, to creating a school based medical first responder program ran by, and performed by the teens themselves. In addition, Camp Fire USA operates a rustic summer camp for area youth, our camp provides an opportunity to youth that would not normally be able to afford to attend a traditional summer camp. We provide this opportunity by using donation and grant money to provide a "camper-ship" to low income area families. Our summer camp has seen a decline, however, due to lack of funding and our inability to provide more families with this opportunity for their children. Our summer camp has a strict programming standard, focusing on teamwork, leadership, and community service.
