  • Child Voice is a registered, non profit and charitable organisation working for social transformation exclusively for building communities that support safe and secure environment for children and young adults. Child Voice is having close touch with underprivileged Tribal and dalit communities in the target area of Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu, India covering 30 villages in 4 blocks that is Dindigul, Kodaikkanal, Nilakkottai and Palani for the past 25 years. We provide education, employment, equal rights, safe and security, freedom from oppression and health hygiene & sanitation to poor children and adolescent girls in the target villages.
     Child Voice is running bridge school to support tribal children towards education, nutrition and social awareness.
     Child Voice is providing health care and nutrition to children, adolescent girls and women.
     Child Voice is affording psycho social care to children and parents recover from difficult circumstances.
     Child Voice is conducting regular child protection services among children and parents free from child abuse.
     Child Voice is giving special care to place children and adolescent girl’s best interest in mind.
     Child Voice is campaigning to protect child rights through adolescent action groups.
     Child Voice is supporting the victims of children and adolescent girls rescue from modern slavery.
     Child Voice is coordinating with community federations and networks for the welfare, awareness and development of children in all respects.
     Child Voice is organising the community through palani hill tribal development for holistic development.
     Child Voice is running Guided Learning Centres at all target villages to provide supplementary education.
     Child Voice is providing education scholarships to the children from marginalized communities to continue education.
    Hence, we wish to strengthen and existing our activities in to education for girl children, rescue and rehabilitation of victims of modern slavery / bondage, higher education scholarship for girls, technical / vocational skill training for boys and girls and malnutrition eradication among tribal children.

  • History:
  • CHILD VOICE – Dindigul
    CHILD VOICE is a not for profit organization founded in the year 2011. It is working for the development of street and working children and children at risk situations in the areas of Dindigul, Palani and Vilpatty village in Kodaikanal. The main purpose of the programme is ‘Empowering the Community to Protect Children at Risk (ECPCR). This project is being funded by ICT UK and Comic Relief UK. The following major activities was undertaken during the month of July –September 2013.
    Activities and Achievements:
    • In the year 2013-14 CHILD VOICE identified, rescued and rehabilitated 98 children integrated into appropriate safety with their best interest in mind. This include street and working children and run away children. The reintegration process was conducted with the support of Child Welfare Committee – Dinidgul
    • Child Protection and Participation Rights awareness (CPPR) is given to 3054 children and adults enhancing their understanding on child rights as a part of our long term strategy of inclusive and collective social awareness on children.
    • 352 member strong Child Protection Committee (CPC) have taken upon themselves to emerge as change agents addressing child related issues and ensuring children safety. They function as cartelistic agent in achieving the organizational main objectives in all fields.
    • CHILD VOICE conducted 13 Guided Learning Centres to improve the quality of education among rural communities in which 563 children are benefitted directly. The centers function in the evening from 05:00 – 08:00 PM
    • By conducting enrollment campaigns 207 school dropouts children are identified at three project areas and have been reintegrated back to school. 08 camps are conducted for these children to motivate them on importance of education.
    • Career guidance training is given 546 students who appear for X and XII students who appear for public exams. The purpose of the training is to improve the self-esteem for children to face exams with positive confidence.
    • Children sangams are the core element of CHILD VOICE. Totally 52 children are formed in which 889 members actively involve through their participatory rights. They address issues related to children. Children sangam have emerged into 3 federations in Dindigul, Palani and Kodaikanal.
    • CHILD VOICE conducted three vocational training courses on welding, electrical and tailoring. 93 adolescent boys and girls have completed their vocational skill training. Children who completed the training are given course completion certificate and employment opportunities through placement camp.
    • CHILD VOICE concerns for children health and their improvement. 12 health camps are conducted with the support of local doctors. 538 children were given healthcare and
    • Children who are affected are given counseling care through qualified consultant team. During the year 158 are provided counseling support.
    • So far 938 children at risk are identified by the community members and involved in rehabilitation process by continuing the imparting the knowledge on child rights and protection to 16 CPCs, 46 programmes in community, 12 programmes among youth and adolescence are conducted.
    • 08 programmes on child rights and protection for government staff including preschool workers conducted totally reaching 1836 adult stakeholders.
    • CPPR trainings programmes are carried out in 22 schools for children and 07 trainings for school teachers reaching 1032 children and 186 teachers. The purpose of the programme is to enable the stakeholders to understand children behavior and get involved in early intervention care to effected children such as abuse and sexual abuse.
    • 28 advocacy campaigns on school enrolment, child labour, child marriage and policy level changes are conducted in consultation and involvement with the community members at working areas and at district level.
    • CHILD VOICE is also formed a children cultural team and trained up 136 children. The team performed 32 child rights awareness programme through folklore of “thappatam” and puppet show and participated in all major advocacy campaigns.
    • CHILD VOICE also work with state level NGOs network for the promotion of child rights and children participation through Forum for Promotion of Children Participation (FPCP).
