  • The mission of the American Lung Association in California is to save lives by promoting lung health and preventing lung disease.

  • The American Lung Association in California (ALAC) has been addressing lung health needs of California residents for over 100 years and is one of the oldest voluntary health agencies in the country. Now in its second century, the ALAC is “Fighting for Air” through research, education and advocacy. The ALAC currently focuses on reducing air pollution, controlling and preventing tobacco use, controlling and eliminating tuberculosis and influenza, and helping people of all ages manage their asthma, COPD, and other lung diseases to improve their quality of life. The ALAC utilizes national best-practice educational health program models to address the serious lung health issues faced by Californians.
