  • Mission:
  • To protects chldren newborn through thirteen years of age from abuse/neglect by providing temporary short-term emergency shelter and family support services.

  • History:
  • The CCCEP has been a part of the El Paso Community for 29 years. The CCCEP began as a small crisis nursery for infants and toddlers under the age of five and provided 8 beds for at-risk children. Mrs. Mary Russell founded the organization after her grandson became a victim of child abuse and she learned the El Paso community had no place that could provide emergency shelter for children at risk of abuse and/or neglect. Today, the agency can provided residential services for up to 31 children. The CCCEP has several family support programs that provide education, assistance and awareness for parents of children with the goal of preventing child abuse and neglect. The agency has the capacity to provide complete wrap-around services for families to help them become strong and result in children being raised in a productive and positive environment. Over 700 children are admitted annually.
