  • The mission of Child Care Coordinating Council of Detroit/Wayne County, Inc. (4C) is to educate, support and empower families, communities and service programs to provide quality care and environments for all children and to promote within strong family units the development of children to their full potential and well-being. Detroit/Wayne County 4C makes a difference in the lives of children and families by helping adults help children.

  • The Child Care Coordinating Council of Detroit/Wayne County, Inc. (4C) is an eduction, information, and family support organization that has served Wayne County residents for approximately forty years. 4C's primary areas of expertise are human development (prental-adulthood); developmentally appropriate, quality children and youth programming; family life education and support; parenting skills; child care worker skills development, consumer advocacy; coordination of community care resources; collaborative planning and proactive leadership. Over the years 4C has acquired expertise, skills, and capacity in outreach, community education, recruitment and supportive services delivery while developing community partnerships and coordinating efforts that foster resource sharing, cooperative planning and community linkages. Parents, child care and other buisnesses, faith based groups, schools, and community agencies have all partnered with 4C to: prevent child abuse and neglect, become more knowledgeable about child developmental stages; develop more quality children's programming; increase employee productivity because children are in safe, affordable quality child care environments, inform community leaders about the needs of children and families; and establish healthy and safe living and learning home, school and play environments. Families, employers, human service agencies and communities turn to 4C when they are in need of information, education, training, technical assistance, consultation, or cooperative and collaborative planning regarding the care and development of children within their family and community. Core 4C services include resource and referral, child development and family life education, family support, child care provider training, and coordination, leadership and advocacy serices.
