  • Mission:
  • A Precious Child is devoted to making a postive impact in the lives of disadvantaged and displaced children by improving their quality of life.

  • History:
  • Carina Martin established A Precious Child, Inc. in 2008 with a mission to help those unable to afford life’s most basic essentials. Carina’s inspiration came after the sudden death of a close friend, Sharon, who left behind a grieving husband and two small children. Witnessing their misfortune and the misfortune of others like them, Carina was inspired to create A Precious Child. She named the first program Share-On, after her friend Sharon. Her mission was to assist families during times of poverty and misfortune by discretely and compassionately providing life’s most basic essentials.
She first developed the program by meeting with school principals and community leaders to identify gaps in services and programs. Her idea started as a desire to cloth kids in need with clean, fashionable clothes so they could focus on learning. She also saw that children’s clothing influenced their self-esteem. In less than three years, Share-On has evolved into five off-shoot programs, all significantly impacting the lives of disadvantaged children. Programs now include: Share-On, Precious Boutiques, Basics 4 Babies, Fill A Backpack, A Precious Gift, and giveSPORTS.
Her passion and commitment to help vulnerable children earned her the Heart of Broomfield Award in 2010 and an award from CASA of Adams County and Broomfield for her contribution to the children in the community.
