Collections Project Grants

Description:

Thanks to State of California, funding is available to secure collections, samples, specimens, and other sets of biodiversity specimens that might otherwise be lost or damaged. In this time of rapid environmental change and declining wild biodiversity, it is essential that collections be rescued and maintained for the future. Grants in this program provide large stipends (e.g. >$10,000). These grants primarily are to support the rescue of several large collections, multi-institution collaborations, and/or block grants that will be regranted to smaller individual projects. All taxa are eligible, with priority given to collections that are composed of specimens collected primarily in California.

Applications for the current grant cycle are due April 30, 2024.
