The Deacon Charitable Foundation was started in 2006 by Deacon Corp., a general contractor with offices in Washington, Oregon and California. Deacon funds the Foundation with a percentage of the profits from its operations, because it is part of their corporate mission to “Support Our Communities.”
Deacon employees determine where the Foundation will focus its support through an annual issues survey. The Foundation mission statement reflects their wishes.
Foundation Board of Directors is made up of seven current or past Deacon employees. An executive director administers the daily operations. Volunteer Charitable Giving Committees in each of the company's four offices identify organizations to support, award grants, and organize community service activities for employees.
The Mission of the Foundation for Financial Planning is to help people take control of their financial lives by connecting the financial planning community with people in need. We achieve this by supporting pro bono advice and outreach activities.
The Kitsap Community Foundation (KCF) exists to provide a flexible, efficient vehicle for local philanthropy. Through the Foundation, donors establish a legacy of ongoing financial support for the benefit of our community and its future generations.
The PADI FOUNDATION encourages and supports research and education related to aquatic environments. The Foundation will fund and assist worthwhile projects that either:
1) Enrich mankind's understanding of aquatic environments and encourage sensitivity to and protection of ecosystems.
2) Increase understanding of sport diving physics and physiology that will benefit the general diving public and add to the scientific understanding of man's relationship and ability to survive in the underwater environment.
3) Improve understanding of, and response to, hazards to humans and ecosystems related to climate change in coastal and ocean environments.
The PADI Foundation is an IRC Section 501 (c)(3) non-profit, tax exempt organization.
The foundation is focused on making grants to support environmental, education, human services and other causes although our interests are fairly diverse and may lead us into other areas on an occasional basis. We make both program and operating grants and do not have any geographic restrictions on our grants.
USC Good Neighbors exists to enhance the quality of life in the neighborhoods surrounding the University Park and Health Sciences campuses. Gifts from USC faculty, staff and other donors through the annual USC Good Neighbors Campaign are the primary source of funding.
USC Good Neighbors considers grant applications from USC employees, academic units and other university departments working in partnership with community-based, tax-exempt organizations located and operating in the neighborhoods surrounding the University Park and Health Sciences campuses. Applying for USC Good Neighbors grants is a competitive process, and not all proposals can be funded, including continuation applications for programs that have received funding in the past.
